Ages 6-7
The Estrellita en la Casa program for 6-and 7-year-olds continues with the same Blending process presented in Estrellita en la Casa for 5-and 6 –year-olds, but now introducing more complex syllable combinations: Mixtas, Inversas, Trabadas and con Diptongo (covering the remaining 49% of syllable blends in Spanish). In addition, the program allows the child to acquire a wider range of vocabulary and to develop more complex fluency and comprehension reading skills. With Estrellita en la Casa for 6-and 7-year-olds, our little readers strengthen their decoding skills to become strong and confident readers to succeed in life and build a bright future.

Accelerated Learning
The Estrellita en la Casa beginning Spanish reading program was developed in the classroom and designed to engage students while accelerating the learning process. Each of the different programs are age appropriate by including activities that incorporate audio, visual, kinesthetic and tactical learning modalities addressing the needs of each student and engaging them in the lessons.

The curriculum is designed to be accelerated, systematic, explicit and direct providing all the tools necessary to decode beginning reading material in Spanish. Students will build a strong foundation initially in phonics and phonemic awareness in the Sonidos Iniciales portion of the program. They will then utilize a unique blending methodology to acquire vocabulary, comprehension and fluency in Spanish reading.
